Carrier Loss Run Guides

To request loss runs from any carrier, send the carrier a written request with the insured's signed letter of authority, named insured, FEIN, policy numbers and periods for five years. The agent of record can often use the agent portal, and the insured can usually request their own.

The same request works for every carrier

Carriers differ in channel, not in what they need from you.

Signed authorization

A letter of authority signed by the insured lets a new broker receive loss history. Use our loss run request letter with the authorization block built in.

Follow-ups on schedule

Replies often take about 10 business days and vary by carrier. Follow up on day 3, 7 and 14, as described in how to request loss runs.

One claims format

Every carrier formats loss runs differently. Loss run software reads them into one schema and builds the five-year summary.
